"Transformations. Modernity in the Third Republic" is an exhibition at the main building of the National Museum in Kraków (the exhibition runs until May 18, 2025) showcasing the works of Polish artists depicting changes in culture and art after 1989. This is the fourth and final installment of the exhibition series "4x Modernity", realized by the museum since 2021.
Until April 2025, an open photography exhibition "Zofia Rydet. The World of Feelings and Imagination" will also be on display at the Photography Museum in Kraków. The exhibition presents unique photomontages, revealing a lesser-known facet of one of the most famous Polish photographers.
A little later, in July 2025, the National Museum in Kraków, in cooperation with the National Museum in Bucharest, will open the exhibition "Dacia. The Forgotten Kingdom", which will showcase treasures of goldsmithing from the 2nd and 1st millennium BC of the Dacian kingdom. The exhibition will be part of the cultural season "Poland − Romania 2024-2025", which includes a series of similar exhibitions in Polish museums.
In August, the National Museum in Kraków invites you to a unique exhibition dedicated to the work of one of the most outstanding representatives of Polish realism – Józef Chełmoński. Its scenario includes approximately 300 works by the artist, marking the third and final installment prepared in collaboration with the National Museum in Warsaw and the National Museum in Poznań.
For aviation history enthusiasts, we also have good news. In the autumn of 2025, a new hangar will be opened at the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków. The hangar will feature a new permanent exhibition of the museum - "With the Wind and Against the Wind – Civil Aviation", which will include about 40 unique aircraft exhibits.
